City centre maintenance

STOP PRESS -
On Sunday 7th March 2010 Deansgate will re-open.
On Monday 8th March Liverpool Road will re-open.
At 7am on Monday 8th March 2010 Whitworth Street West will be closed for the next section of NWGA works.
At 10am on Monday 8th March 2010 they will re-configure the traffic lights on Deansgate at the junction with Great Bridgewater Street to split into 4 separate phases plus a pedestrian phase.

On Tuesday 9th March 2010 they will begin work on Bridge Street with Lane Restrictions on either side of the carriageway as shown on the attached plan. During the work Bus Stop NB0502 on the South Bound carriageway will be suspended. Traffic will be unable to complete the right turn from Bridge Street into the NCP car park and addition signage will be placed on Deansgate to warn traffic and divert them around Blackfriars.

On Monday 15th March 2010 they will be making Bridge Street one-way between Deansgate and St Mary’s Parsonage. In addition they we will be putting additional signage out to try and divert traffic along Gartside Street, Quay St and Deansgate.

Northern Quarter
Thomas Street - Closures from 4th January for 8 weeks.
Oldham Street - Diversions and closures, in different stages from 4th January for 8 weeks.
Shudehill - Lane restrictions and Thomas Street road closure from 15th February for 5 weeks.
Rochdale Road - Lane restrictions from middle January for 5 weeks.

City Centre
Deansgate - From Peter Street to Great Bridgewater Street, lane restrictions from 4th January for 4 weeks, works will continue to Whitworth Street West from 23rd January for 8 weeks including one way restrictions and diversions.
Portland Street - Lane restrictions from 4th January for 8 weeks.
Bridge Street - Lane restrictions and one way from St Mary's Parsonage to Deansgate from 1st March for 4 weeks.
