CityCo has worked with Manchester City Council and member businesses to launch City Loos, a scheme that encourages retailers and venues to allow visitors to use their facilities, whether they’re a customer or not.
CityCo launched the initiative in response to the lack of city centre public toilets. We aim to ensure a number of basic standards are met across the city to improve the visitor experience.
This follows similiar schemes across the UK in operation across most London Boroughs, Bristol, Brighton, Chester, Sheffield and many other towns and cities.
Organisations already on board include House of Fraser Kendal’s, Debenhams, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Manchester Arndale, The Triangle Shopping Centre and MOSI. The venues display purple window stickers indicating they are members of the scheme.
CityCo is continuing to liaise with city centre businesses to encourage further participation. To discuss joining the scheme, please email Emma Cooke or call 0161 838 3253.
