Piccadilly Partnership and CityCo have worked collaboratively with InTheCity to bring the internationally acclaimed music conference to the Piccadilly and Northern Quarter areas of Manchester.
The InTheCity festival gathers the music industry for debate and discussion, whilst showcasing the best in emerging musical talent from across the world.
Piccadilly Partnership, as a key sponsor, worked with organisers, local hotels, venues and other partners to ensure the success of the event’s move to its new home.
Evaluation has shown how the transition to Manchester’s creative-hub has helped the festival expand its impact and reach new consumer audiences. Delegates felt the relocation injected a new energy; with the Northern Quarter’s array of eclectic stores, shops and bars better reflecting the spirit of InTheCity.
Piccadilly Partnership supported with publicity via our consumer site piccadillymanchester.com and by associating the festival with wider cultural activities in the city during the period, including CityCo’s Autumn fashion campaign – Manchester – Heart of Fashion.
The 2010 event saw over 210 bands plays across 14 venues and a host of talks, panel discussions and screenings.
InTheCity and Piccadilly Partnership are already working together to plan 2011’s festival.
