CityCo and Piccadilly Partnership are proud to have supported The University of Salford, MediaCityUK and Metrolink to bring an ambitious interpretation of LS Lowry’s famous painting “Piccadilly Gardens” to Manchester City Centre.
The public art project showcased a digital re-imagining of LS Lowry’s famous painting “Piccadilly Gardens”. Passer bys were captured, mapped and digitally transformed into Lowry characters, appearing in the projected backdrop of the original painting.
Lowry to Life was part of Believe – MediaCityUK’s spectacular Digital Showcase celebrating The University of Salford’s move to the site.
As part of the event Metrolink offered free transport to the University of Salford’s free multimedia event on Saturday 12 November. Visitors were able to travel MediaCityUK, free of charge from Manchester and Salford city centres, and from Eccles.
