CityCo has unveiled a new retail brand for the city – 'Manchester Heart of Fashion’. The campaign seeks to promote Manchester as the UK’s top regional retail destination.
The marketing and PR campaign launch in October 2010, highlighted a series of fashion events held by the city’s major retailers – aiming to encourage people locally, regionally and nationally to choose the city centre for a pre-Christmas shopping spree.
At the heart of the on-going campaign is the publication of a new retail guide for the city centre – The Manchester Style Guide, a free, 64 page booklet available to download, and pick up from the Manchester Tourist Information Centre, hotel rooms in the city and tourist information centres across Greater Manchester.
The campaign celebrates the opening of The Avenue in Spinningfields – Manchester’s newest shopping destination for international luxury brands, House of Fraser Kendals’ 175th anniversary and the refurbishment of Debenhams.
As part of the new initiative, CityCo organised the Best of Manchester Fashion Awards 2010.
The campaign is coordinated by CityCo with support from Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, House of Fraser Kendals, Manchester Arndale, Manchester Markets, Stagecoach, First Transpennine, Northern Rail, Metrolink, GMPTE, NCP, Manchester City Council and Marketing Manchester.
