Working in partnership with Manchester City Council, Marketing Manchester, transport and retail partners, CityCo co-ordinated the city’s 2010 multi-media Christmas marketing campaign.

'Manchester’s Magical Christmas’, designed by Dinosaur, aimed to reaffirm Manchester as the regions’ top festive destination – attracting people to the range of family-friendly events, food, shopping and entertainment in the city centre.

The campaign was carried across a wide range of regional channels including 48 and 6 sheet poster advertising, 20m Deansgate banner, city centre digital screens, tram, bus, rail and lamp-post adverts, radio commercials, half a million printed leaflets, a PR campaign and online via visitmanchester.com.

CityCo worked closely with partners, including Manchester’s Christmas Markets and Spinningfields’ Ice Rink, to ensure an integrated feel across the city.

As part of the campaign, Cityco and Piccadilly Partnership transformed Piccadilly Gardens into a traditional family fun fair, complete with children’s rides, stalls and a Big Top Bar.

'Manchester’s Magical Christmas’ was co-ordinated by CityCo with support from Manchester City Council, Marketing Manchester, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, House of Fraser Kendals, Manchester Arndale, Manchester Markets, Stagecoach, First Transpennine, Northern Rail, Metrolink, GMPTE and NCP.
