CityCo is working with Manchester City Council and Red Rose Forest to introduce sixteen new cherry trees and one large tulip tree to Whitworth Street.

The trees will line the street on both sides, starting at Oxford Road and leading down to First Street.

The large tulip tree is being planted outside the old Hacienda site.

The initiative is part of an on-going aim to increase the number of street trees in the city centre and supports CityCo’s wider objectives to develop a series of greening projects in the city over the coming year.
