Cityco runs marketing initiatives to benefit business in Manchester city centre, from consumer trading campaigns to exhibiting at international trade shows to promote the city as a retail and investment destination. Recent projects include a Christmas trading campaign, run by Cityco with the support of key retail partners, aimed at driving footfall to the city centre. The campaign, which has been nominated for a national award, was based around three key messages: the quality and range of the Manchester retail offer, the diversity of the Christmas experience – including European markets and the ice rink – and good accessibility to the city centre.
One of our key marketing objectives is to develop a sophisticated case to the retail sector for a radical and coordinated approach to bring trading hours in line with modern day consumer requirements. Cityco has delivered a number of campaigns seeking to encourage late night trading and we ran the award-winning awareness campaign Bags More Time. Cityco continues to lobby for the extension of trading hours and a campaign is planned for 2008.
