Manchester Garden City Summer spruce up

On Saturday 11 August gardening enthusiasts are invited to take part in our next public gardening event to help spruce-up our Manchester Garden City schemes in time for the 2012 Canal Festival.

Volunteers are needed to help at the following sites:

• Piccadilly Basin, around the canalside and Ducie Street car park Grow Boxes
• Along the Rochdale Canal from Piccadilly to Castlefield Basins
• Urban Orchard in St John’s Gardens
• Northern Quarter pocket park on Thomas Street

The afternoon of pruning, painting and tidying will end with thank you drinks and nibbles in the Northern Quarter.
